LaureMeloyheadshot2012.jpgSoprano Laure Meloy is currently on the roster of the Metropolitan Opera, New York, covering the role of Ariel in The Tempest. She made her Royal Opera House, Covent Garden debut as Queen of Night in Die Zauberflote, a role she has also sung with English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Opera North, and English Touring Opera. Other roles include: Fiordiligi, Constanze, Lucia, Lulu, Zerbinetta, Despina, and Poppea. She has performed with opera companies, orchestras, and at festivals throughout Europe and the USA, including the Orchestra of St. Luke's, Florentine Opera of Milwaukee, Aspen Opera Theater and Music Festival, Brighton Festival, Canterbury Festival, and Lincoln Center Festival.

Concert and oratorio work includes Poulenc Gloria, Vaughan Williams Sea Symphony, Mozart Mass in C minor, Beethoven Mass in C, Haydn The Creation, and Orff Carmina Burana. Her performances have been broadcast on radio and television, and her voice was featured on the soundtrack of the BBC/Sony film 'Rocketmen.'

Ms. Meloy is a keen proponent of contemporary classical music, and has appeared in many premieres of new works, including the world premiere of Paula Kimper's Patience and Sarah at the Lincoln Center Festival, New York, the British premiere of an excerpted production of the same opera, and the American premiere of John Metcalf's Kafka's Chimp in Pittsburgh. Other contemporary opera roles include Madame Mao Nixon in China, Venus/Geppo Le Grand Macabre, Janine/Ofwarren A Handmaid's Tale, and Hilde Mack Elegy for Young Lovers. 

Recent projects include a CD of opera arias and duets called 'Sorcery & Seduction,' fundraising work for An American Lulu with The Opera Group, London, a workshop for Jonathan Dove's new opera for World Stages London, with Somerset House, The Opera Group, and King's College London, Fiordiligi Cosi fan tutte with Swansea City Opera, and a recital of French art song at the Canterbury Festival.
